So lets write them out and talk about the ideas in mind.
As I said, Dark elves are coming, but this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone, they needed new hydras and witch elves, and their codex needed an update.
I'll tell you what though, when I saw the pictures of the models from the main site my Jaw damn near hit the floor. So I'm going to walk through these and say come conversion potentials that I see. Maybe I do them in the future, maybe I don't we'll see If I sell one of my other armies first.
So lets start with the Witch elves kit and then move to the Cauldron of Blood
First off just look at the animation of these models, The hair, the leaping pose...Looks great. I can already see people running these as Traitor guard, Daemonettes, Dark eldar wyches, Maybe even as banshee's or striking scorpions for some people. This is one of those kits you are going to see sell like mad just for it's "sexy" conversion potential and then we get to the other half of the kit, The sisters of slaughter.
If these models don't scream "RUN US AS DAEMONS!" nothing does. Whips, those masks, Like....everything just comes together on that model and hey if you don't use them on the witch elves bodies, you can always save them for another model...
But here is the rub Ladies and Gentlemen, it's $60 for 10 of these models. While I'm not sure if $60 is worth it for ten, the kit is large and the sculpts look amazing.
Moving onto the other kit that I like (no not the hydra).
The Cauldron of Blood.
This model looks great, Even if not putting it together just piecing it out there are bits in here for tons of stuff, but lets start with the statue of the god himself Khaine.
Now This statue looks good, in my opinion I think it's better than the metal/finecast one that the eldar have now, I expect this piece will command high prices on Ebay probably in the 20-30 dollar range as people will be buying them up to use as their Avatar....if they use the Avatar of Khaine.
The girls on it look great, I suspect the one with the chalice will be sold separately from the other two as more people will want her as a character or some such.
The Cauldron itself looks great as a centerpiece of terrain or as an objective point, if I can find several of them for a good price that might be one of the next terrain pieces I do.
The pedastal that the Avatar is on is amazing and would be perfect for pillars, to denoting a special character, to just all sorts of things.
and lastly the stairs can be used for all sorts of terrain projects, Need a building to look a little more evil? Maybe an evil staircase will fix it. Might also go well with a diorama.
On the Bloodwrack shrine side of things. The Naga-woman/Medusa looks great, I've been trying to make a serpent lady for my daemons forever and now (hopefully she's cheap) I can get a couple of them.
(I also like that they put what looks like a sorceress with 2 weapons into this kit, I like extra folks in boxes like the spider shaman that comes with the arachnarok spider.)
So that's my thoughts on what I might do with some of these if I play around with them, The models look super good, and I wish more people played fantasy around here so I might actually make a Dark Elves army. But conversions for the armies I play are good too.
See you folks later this week.

Would you like to join my bible black club?
So before we get to our featured presentation.
GW is releasing new Dark Elves in October.
And their models look better than fantastic.
Like....Literally All of the witch elves models look amazing. I am tempted to sell two of my armies to buy stuff for my Dark Eldar, and conversion stuffs for other armies. That's if I didn't decide to make a dark elves army.
I'll probably ramble more about this Sunday and what conversion ideas I'm already cooking up.
Anyway, You know what Game I Kickstarted ages ago and just re-found like 2 weeks ago?
Tentacle Bento.
It seems to be a fairly basic game With the concept being, You are an outerspace tentacle alien, Capture as many anime schoolgirls as you can before the schoolyear ends. I like the art, I wish each girl had their own art but I understand why they don't (saves on time and makes the regular students look more streamlined.)
"But SWL why are we talking about the game when this is a painting blog?" I hear you ask.
It did come with miniatures though, if you kicked in extra with the game. And I finally got around to painting the one I wanted this week.
So lets break this model down I decided to go with art from the cards as well as the original design document for the uniform (as well as a few of the liberties taken with some of the cosplayers on the main site) unfortunately there seems to be some disparity between the design and the actual art so I went with a kind of mix. I went with magenta for the tentacle monster because I felt it fit as a whole, and I couldn't see doing green or turquoise for some reason, I couldn't find any students that looked like this model in the art so I decided to make her dark haired with a bit of color, I almost made her a platinum blond but didn't want the model too bright.
Her skirt was my first job at free-handing plaid which I don't think I did too well on but it still looks good so I'm calling it a win. The brickwork was done with some terracota mini-bricks I had, and the cherry blossom petals were some of the yellow petals that I used on flowers for my warjacks ages ago just painted pink.
Over all I'm happy with this model and I think the only thing I would want to do differently would be to apply some dripping water effects from the tentacles and leaking out of the bag.
Anyway that's painting for today, Comments and emails are always welcome, Check back Sunday for more stuff.

Now is the time for talking. (Q&A, Emails, upcoming posts)
So I would like to start of this post saying thank you to all those still occasionally checking it to see if I updated, or if you found this page by just surfing I'm glad something caught your attention and you liked it.
So first part of this, some emails I've been sent, If you would like to ask me a question leave a comment below, message me on my Tumblr, or send me an email at Slaaneshi.lord@gmail.com
Q: Why are there no new posts on the blog?
A: Well aside from having to drive up to Virginia twice in the past 2 months I've been involved with several other things (Friends, Demoing games, prepping for a large tournament, ect.) that have simply been eating up my time. On top of that I for some reason felt I needed to take a little break from painting, each time I would sit down I would get too distracted and start making stuff instead of painting, which is usually a good sign you need a break.
Q: What will you be painting next for your blog?
A: While I have nothing concrete lined up, I do have several works in progress, the top of the list is my dark eldar The Kabal of the Crimson Shrike. I have all the models primed and they should be simple to complete once I start to streamline them. Other than that, I have a bunch of Super dungeon explore models I want to paint up, I picked up a Cthulhu from the Reaper: Bones line that I want to paint, I may have a commission for some tau soon, and People have expressed that they want to see more of the traitor guard of Slaanesh, so look forward to that stuff.
Q: Do you take suggestions for what to paint next or blog about?
A: I sure do, Leave a comment, send me a message or an email and let me know what you are thinking.
Q:Do you plan to review more board and card games?
A: Yes, There will be more. I'm tempted to do some extended video game reviews here as well, but I really can't say much as I've been playing mostly games like Skyrim and LoL recently.
Q: How many armies do you own and/or what are they? Are any fully painted?
A: For 40k I own: Daemons, Chaos space marines, Traitor guard, Dark eldar, and Tyranids.
Warhammer fantasy: Goblins, Warriors of chaos, Daemons (but I'll probably never play them in fantasy)
Warmachine: Menoth and Skorne
Malifaux: The dreamer (Who the fuck plays Malifaux? Am I rite?)
They are all not fully painted but menoth is the closest to being fully painted. only having 5 models I can think of without a paintjob done to them.
Q: I want to play _______ army, what do you recommend?
A: Well I first recommend you go and check out 1d4chan.org , if you don't find what you need there then shoot me an email, I'll be honest I don't know much outside the armies I play, and most of the time my meta is kind of weird so I don't know how much I can really help but I'll do my damnedest.
Q: Have you considered doing game write-up's?
A: I considered it but I find them boring. I might in the future if I play a particularly good game/opponent.
Q: Have you considered having guest segments?
A: Yes and I would appreciate them, send me an email if you have something cool or want to review something cool.
Q: Can I send you artwork, Pictures of my armies, or neat conversions I've come across?
A: Yes, If I like it enough I may just steal it, Giving credit of course.
Q: Can I send you stuff through the mail?
A: I'd prefer you didn't, makes me feel a little uncomfortable getting something for nothing. I mean if you really really realllllly don't want it I suppose I will take it, send me an email, but don't feel the need to send me anything the blog is supposed to be about showing off models and maybe teaching something, not about me getting free stuff.
That's it for questions for now, But keep an eye peeled for my next blog post, I'll have something to show off and talk about why Eldar have me super salty right now.
