How 'bout an actual update?

So long story short I don't have the full army of space marines painted, after a rollercoaster of a week including new classes, running out of sepia wash and replacing it with watered down brown ink (NEVER DO THIS), an old friend showing up in town, ect. ect. ect. this week has flown by. However I did manage to get a daemon prince painted for you folks so lets check him out real quick.

I'm sure the first thing you notice on him is the crab claw which came courtesy of the daemon princess I ordered a little while back for my daemon army before I actually got Babylon. I wanted to give it a chitinous look though so I decided to do it daemonette hide and then hit it with a secret weapon purple wash which I feel complimented it rather nicely.
I feel maybe I could have added some more metals than silver to this but I'm not sure it would work out so well, the black fits with what I'm going for (again Slaaneshi Imperial fists) but I feel I could have thrown some gold in there somewhere.

The horns were from the Tzeentch banner of the CSM box, I think they add nicely to the model itself, and I hardly see any daemons with more than those two derpy looking ones. Honestly though I would have loved it if I had an extra fiend of slaanesh head to swap out, I think it would have looked pretty good on a daemon prince.

Now for what most of you no doubt came for.

As I'm not done with My CSM army I have decided to do this, a giveaway every week until I am finished. Standard rules, email in the comments, I pick a winner and send them an email for their contact info. Good luck, See you folks next week.

It's how big!? (small update)

Sorry to disappoint, but with some stuff going on this week as well as not being able to pick up anything until today (friday) I seem to have fallen behind, rest assured I still have an update but it's a smaller one before I show off the one of the projects I've been working with off and on for a year now.  SO let me start off by saying the Chaos codex is great having picked it up and thumbed through it. I forsee quite a few good matches coming from it's rules and am rather liking the idea of a slaanesh sorc riding around with 9 feel no pain noise marines tooled for assault in a land raider. Also it gave me a good name for my Chaos Imperial fists so I don't have to call them "Dornian heresy" Marines anymore. The brotherhood of Lethe, Which opens up all sorts of ideas for scenic basing. But that isn't what I want to talk about today, what I want to talk about is one of our new toys for heavy support.

Now I was dubious when I first saw the fiends, but have been since convinced that they can fill a much needed roll in our army, so I picked one up and while being surprisingly simple to put together is also quite large, I was actually amazed how big the thing is.

I recall being surprised at the size of the Tervigon when I got one of those too and wonder if I just have a hard-on for Monstrous creatures. But I find that the more I look at this model as well as it's conversion potential to other projects the more I find myself liking it. The guns look good, the pipes on it's flanks look excellent (for just about any vehicle that you want to have a small pipe-organ feel. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the reptilian head, but I must commend them for giving us the alternative shown above.

That's all for now, expect a larger update this week which will also include some W.I.P.s

Sweet transvestites (or Why do old dark elves remind me of rocky horror?)

Hey there folks, Late update this week, but I was quite literally working on these gals until a few minutes ago and I still feel like they lack a few details but are done enough to post.

So without further delays my company commander's squad of Hench-women.

Yes I know these are dark elf wyches but I thought their dynamic nature as well as impossible body structure (look at those size zero waists) made for a good contrast to the rest of the prim and proper feel of the army.
Now I love these models for two reasons, the first, it has a charming retro camp feel to it, but I get that a lot from the older models (noise marines with guitars for example) the other is the fact that conversions seem to lend themselves quite nartuarally to the older fantasy models and this standard bearer was the perfect example I could pull from this, one quick weapon swap where the standard used to be and you almost can't tell it was there.
I wanted to do something decently funny with the musician turned Vox operator, so this being a chaos army I decided to make her instrument have a mouth like it's alive. already had the fangs, not much more to be done really. Also The rocky horror soundtrack came on while I was painting her and it made me notice that she could not possibly be holding that sword in a more suggestive manner could she?
This is the gal I think came out looking the best honestly. I love the pose even the face is a little munged up, but I also think that is the second best color I have ever gotten for green hair, all the inks seemed to find their place on this model rather easily and the rips in her stockings are just one of the features I love.

So with the gals out of the way I move onto the request portion of the blog, I got asked by Crab_Nicholson  to repost my IG shelf but a bit closer and an old Daemon prince project that I never completed, so here they are.

Well that is it for this week folks, Next week I'm thinking it's going to be a skaven and goblin painting tutorial for speed painting. As usual leave any comments, opinions or otherwise in the box below and Have a great week.

Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. (Also new giveaway!)

Well another Friday is here huh folks? First off I'd like to reintroduce you to my Forge world Keeper of secrets, whom I think "Babylon the Great" is a fine title until I decide to make a six or seven headed mount of slaanesh to pull a chariot.
Now as for why I decided to do my keeper this week, I saw that she had broken in the middle of moving from the last place to this one, and after stealing the idea from her base to kind of use on the chariot I decided he needed a new paint-job. Also I wanted to paint more daemon stuff
.
Now anyone who has ever glanced longingly at one of the forge world keepers will notice that this one is missing spikes on her breast and leg, I only received half of the spikes to attach, and those that I tried to attach to the breast looked horrid, so instead I used liquid greenstuff to fill in the holes as much as possible and then colored them as I wanted to do the latex.
Speaking of latex, That red on the leg, hand ,and breast is the same mixture 50/50 Vermillion (vallejo) and Mephestion red (GW) covered with a thin layer of 'ard coat.
Thought it would be nice to give a look at this base and break down how it was done a bit for anyone who wants to try their hand at it. I first built up the outer ring with cork and made sure to fill in the open spots so that the water effects could not escape. The next step aw the easy part, place a couple of zombie hands, and tentacles I had laying around and prime white, and then the entire thing got a layer of neon magenta with a purple wash and then I just poured water effects in until it reached the brim, adding a bit more the following few days so that it would eventually harden at the brim.

For our next section, watch the skies, The parasite of Mortrex is coming....
I've been working on this guy a bit recently, so I thought I would post him as I think I'm about ready to paint him. In my opinion the parasite is a good fluffy HQ that became at least playable in the new edition.
What really boggles my mind is this though I was going to include him in my list even before 6th ed. So it's like I got rewarded for playing what I was going to anyway, and hiding a flying synapse creature in a unit of gargoyles, that gets up to 6 attacks (need to check my math but I think that is right)all which can spawn rippers, is a cruel pleasure which I will be sure to make my opponent remember.

Anyway now I'm just rambling about cruel ideas, so lets chat about how I made this as it's piss easy. I basically took a ravaner and added two sets of gargoyle wings, to it, the spikes on the back as well as the horn are all talons from genestealer arms I had laying around. I did take the stinger from a gargoyle and add it to the tail as well though, to give it the stinger it has in the book.

Two more announcements: I'll start with this picture

What better way to commemorate the end of the month and the final touches on my keeper than with another giveaway. Who knows what lay within the unholy walls of the mystery box? Standard rules, Leave a workable email in the comments below, I will not contact you unless you win, winner will be picked before next post.

Other announcement, A couple of my friends started a youtube show called "Stoneface" recently, It involves jump-scares and a shock collar, what's not to love?
A link to their channel is here (beware use of expletives and lots of screaming inside): Stoneface

Have a great week everyone, and good luck on the mysterybox drawing.

Let the games begin...

Hey folks, sorry about no update friday as normal, however having been working on the new Exalted chariot of slaanesh which took much much much more time that I assumed it would.  I actually thought I would hate this model when I saw it, being overly large and looking like it was pulling a tractor. All of that being said, I still picked it up because I thought the rules were quite excellent (who doesn't like getting 4d6 attacks in one charge?) so after a couple days assembling, 4 days painting, and one of getting the water-effects on the base to behave I finally have the entire thing painted I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

I decided to change out one of the claws on the daemonettes for the banner, so I might use this one as a herald-bearing chariot.
I have to say I also really love the Whips on the model, I'm also quite glad that it comes two sets so that I can add them to other models later like my seekers.

I have to say Intense blue from Vallejo along with the blue glaze from GW makes an amazing blue, I find myself wanting to use it quite a bit lately. Both much of the hair and the skin on the mounts used it, I'm considering making an entire unit using these colors.

Coming up this week another large Creature feature, and most likely another giveaway.
See you folks then have a great week
